Introduction to Power Tools

This course provides essential safety training for the use of power tools in construction and industrial environments. Participants will learn how to safely handle and operate various types of power tools, recognizing the specific hazards associated with electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, and liquid-fuel systems. The curriculum emphasizes the critical importance of pre-use inspections, verifying that all machine guards are properly installed, and understanding the risks of electrical shock, lacerations, and struck-by hazards. Workers will also learn proper tool maintenance protocols, the importance of disconnecting power sources before servicing, and the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for safe operation.
