Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Training
This course provides rigorous technical and practical training on Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) operations. Participants will learn to identify respiratory hazards in Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) environments, understand OSHA 1910.134 and NFPA regulatory standards, and master the anatomy of SCBA components, including cylinders, dual-stage pressure regulators, and PASS devices. The curriculum covers strict inspection, cleaning, and storage protocols, rapid donning and doffing techniques (such as the coat-swing and over-the-head methods), and active air management using the Rule of Thirds. Additionally, trainees are equipped with critical emergency survival procedures, including Mayday declarations and the GRAB-LIVES self-survival framework.
